Search engine optimisation

This is the process of improving the volume or quality of? your website traffic from search engines via "organic" search results as opposed to search engine marketing which is basically paying for traffic through the use of sponsored links. Typically, the higher a site appears in the search results, the more traffic it will receive from the search engine. SEO can target different kinds of search, including image search, local search, video search and industry-specific vertical search engines. This gives a web site web presence.

SEO is generally broken down into two types, on site and off site optimisation. Rather than only focusing on the off site, as many companies do, we know from experience that the best results are gained from a combination of the two.

Off Site Optimisation

Off-site search engine optimisation is the main focus for all good SEO consultants. Off site SEO can be made to work as a stand-alone item, without doing any on site work, but the results are much better when the two are undertaken side by side. Generally, the longer you have been online the better you perform in the search results, as you should have grown organically in that time to be spotted by the search engines, this however is not the case for all sites. Some sites have been online for years and have virtually no search engine presence while others have been online for a much shorter period but have a relatively good performance in the searches, this is down to the “on site” optimisation carried out when the site was built.

Whether you already perform well on the search engines, are struggling to get anywhere, or have a new site that hasn't even been indexed yet, we can help.

On Site Optimisation

The main aim of “On-site” SEO is to build each page of your web site so that it can tell the search engines exactly what your page is about, this is done through the use of clean HTML. We use a number of advanced SEO tools to make an educated guess at what keywords people might be searching for. It takes a certain amount of common sense, e.g. if your website is selling designer shoes, it would make sense that you would like it to be optimised for the keyword “designer shoes”. The next step of on-site search engine optimisation involves reviewing what people are searching for to find your web and using this targeted information to optimise more search terms. We can do this by data mining a list of keywords and expanding them to include hundreds of variables which we analyse to produce a list of the best keywords for your website. It is possible to optimise a page for multiple search terms when coupled with off-site optimisation.
